Rustika Cafe & Bakery – Katy, TX

Rustika Cafe & Bakery is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team in Katy. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced café and bakery environment. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality breakfast and lunch items including sandwiches, soups, salads, and other café favorites while maintaining Rustika’s standards for quality, consistency, and food safety.

The Cook will work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items including breakfast dishes, sandwiches, soups, salads, and light café meals
• Follow Rustika Cafe & Bakery recipes, portion sizes, and plating standards
• Set up and stock kitchen stations before service
• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning
• Cook food using various methods such as grilling, sautéing, baking, and assembling
• Ensure orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner during busy service periods
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
• Properly store and label ingredients and food items
• Assist with daily prep, inventory awareness, and kitchen closing procedures
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cooking experience preferred in a café, bakery, or restaurant environment
• Experience preparing breakfast and lunch menu items is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and food presentation
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
